As education funding is becoming more and more competitive schools are having to become more sophisticated in the way they market themselves to parents and students. This means that as well as Heads having to ensure their schools deliver teaching excellence, they are also responsible for developing cohesive marketing strategies that deliver tangible results.
Astley High are a forward thinking secondary school who asked Retox to design and develop a fully responsive website with a full content management system that would appeal to students, parents and other stakeholders. They requested a site which they would have total control over and help with creating and implementing strategies which build awareness and their online visibility.
Retox engaged with students in focus groups and used the project as a student development exercise exposing a number of their pupils to the work of a creative digital agency. The students gained a real insight in to the various strategic, design and development processes that formed our work and played key roles in helping to shape the final site.
Our team certainly enjoyed the process of engaging with the students and listening to their ideas and helping to transfer them in to tangible marketing strategies for their school and we hope that we have inspired a number of their team to look at careers in the digital and creative sectors in future.
The results of the students work was brought to life and have provided Astley High with a website that provides a real focus for the school and pupils and had a positive impact in terms of visibility and how the school now engages with key stakeholder groups.
